Buddy Update One

When we visited Buddy yesterday, he was sleeping on Beth’s floor wearing one of those medical collars that looks like a lampshade. After Buddy’s second surgery to fix his nonexistent tail, José told Beth he didn’t want the dog to be “sad” so the animal could stay in the house for two weeks to heal. My heart did a few cartwheels when I heard that happy news.

Buddy greeted us sporting one of those annoyed-he-had-to-wear-a-lampshade-around-his-head expressions. Beth took it off so he could properly greet us, and I swear that dog smiled. For the most part, he acted incredibly chill, satisfied to lounge by Beth’s feet while Mason assembled the crate we had brought them to use in the house while they were at work.

The other great news is that ICHBA has given Beth and José a generous monetary gift to alleviate some of their veterinarian bills and offered to pay for basic medical needs, like heartworm testing and de-worming.

Things are already looking up for our friend Buddy. Maybe it’s because of all the good energy you freaks sent his way.
