Dawn Gets Fixed

Seven months ago Mason and I met Dawn, a feral dog that lived in a Springfield, TN ghetto. After numerous failed attempts to catch her, we finally collared her at the end of December, but not before she had two litters, totally 19 homeless puppies.

Today, Dawn gets fixed; she’ll never produce another unwanted animal again. For ICHBA, this is a major victory in our battle against overpopulation in Robertson County.

But what about Dawn? Is this where her story ends? Do we get her fixed and release her back on Smith Street? Or find her a proper home with an indoor bed and a doting family? It all hinges on whether we can socialize her or not, and that process begins in earnest now…
