Mellie and Captain Jack Update
Mellie
The house was absurdly quiet last night. Our six-month-old mutt Adriana spent her evening moping, which is unusual but understandable; both her buddies Mellie and Captain Jack got adopted this weekend.
For Mason and I, saying goodbye to Captain Jack wasn’t hard because he was only at the Farnival for two weeks.
But we have history with Mellie and that makes leaving her with strangers – the second time around – a hell of a lot harder. Mellie had been our foster dog when she was a puppy, gotten adopted, then returned several months later as a medium-sized, un-socialized beast, yapping at everything from the vacuum to visiting friends.
During the past couple months, Mason and I worked hard at introducing Mellie to the world, and I’m hoping we found the right home for her this time.
Her new family has two other dogs, no kids. I was sold the moment I walked in the living room and saw their dogs’ stockings hanging over the fireplace.
